I don't want to disappoint Dark Horse, but McCain obviously won the debate. Whew that's off my chest. Now some massively breaking news that somehow only our readers get first. So without further adieu ...
BREAKING NEWS!
First, researchers in Davos, Switzerland have made an incredible discovery: There is only one October. (Personally, I am stunned by this, as are, I am sure, the Chicago Cubs. I just hope Mr. McCain doesn't know this, because its probably better if he thinks they are going to "run it back" a few days after the election).
Second, "Joe the Plumber," America's newest celebrity ... NOT EVEN REGISTERED TO VOTE. Oops! (So, Mr. McCain, ahem ... why did you spend half of your allotted time in the debate last night slobbing the knob of a man who cannot even vote for you?)
Third, the election isn't over! I know if you read most websites and magazines they will tell you that the race is over. But only Karl Rove and the readers of this blog know that the election is not over.
Fourth, (and this is less about breaking news and more of my personal commentary) Obama is probably wishing that the world series had been between the Dodgers and Red Sox. Why? Because Obama purchased half-hour blocks of time on every major network for a prime-time Obama infomercial the Wednesday before the election.
The problem? Game Six (if necessary) will be delayed twenty minutes to allow for the completion of Obama's address. Think the casual undecided voters in the all-important key swing states of Pennsylvania and Florida might be a little peeved. Yep.

Obama had excellent comebacks for almost all of McCain's points. I truly did feel like Barack had his best performance yet.
Take it for what it is worth, but Joe said this morning that he registered to vote. I heard him interviewed live this morning on GMA...."Meet the Plumber" clip can be found here: http://abcnews.go.com/gma
(Fun to note that Joe Biden is a regular guest on the morning show, even during the mourning of his late mother in law earlier this month. Palin has continued to decline.)
From a 35,000 ft view, I think McCain won. With 20 days to go, he had a lot of eyes were on him. He needed to step up yesterday and have a solid evening, and for the most part, he did. He seemed to calm down as the debate went on, and presented some agressive personal and polictical arguements (an easy example being "...You should have run 4 years ago."). But, Obama was Obama last night: He was cool, calm, collected, and was able to coast through this one, as he didn't have as much to prove/lose as Sen. McCain.
From my 5'11" view, I think McCain's discussions on his own healthcare and education plans were quite grey (note correct NUG spelling) and not nearly as clear/solid as Obama's, and would have liked to hear more difinitive answers/responses to questions rather than twisting each answer into a comment/criticism on taxes, spending, plumbing, etc.
On a side note, I'm amazed in the ESP ability of Scorer...before in connection to Dark Horse, but now the crystal ball has moved to politics. See "Class" post on 10/13....a relatively heavy topic in last night's debate. Well done sir.
I think the winner was the American people, because never once was Poverty mentioned in the whole debate. Therefore no one in America must be living in poverty. I think you can see the connection I just made.
And to think, he was "the man that authorities came to blame".

Jokes aside, you make a good point Hurricane.
To clear any confusion, I had my Jumpers and Scorers mixed up in my "Class" side note. The joke was poor, but the kudos were genuine. Nice work, Scorer.
