The Rare WNBA Post
I just wanted to post a quick shout-out to Candace Parker. It's not often that we cover women's basketball on this blog - unless of course we are making fun of it - but I though this was deserving of at least a mention.
In 2008, Candace Parker:
- Won the 2008 Women's John R. Wooden Award, honoring the best women's college basketball player in the country.
- Led the University of Tennessee Lady Vols to their second consecutive national championship.
- Was named Most Outstanding Player at the 2008 Women's Final Four.
- Was the overall #1 draft pick in the WNBA.
- Led Team USA to a gold medal in Women's Basketball in the Beijing Olympics.
- Was the 2008 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
- Was the 2008 WNBA MVP.
And what have YOU done lately?
